Holding Space for Diverse Communities Workshop

  • Hola Yoga Studio 1077 East Trinity Lane Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

We’re thrilled to offer this workshop is in collaboration with Dr. JPop and Hola Yoga Studio. The practice of yoga can make a meaningful difference in the well-being of our communities. Yoga and mindfulness are deeply transformational practices and should be widely shared beyond the yoga-studio setting because studios are not always accessible to the populations who need yoga the most. This workshop is designed for yoga teachers, educators, therapists, and others who want to share yoga and mindfulness practices beyond the studio setting.

In community-based yoga, there usually aren’t pristine floors, deluxe sound systems or prop walls full of blankets, blocks and bolsters. Community-based wellness classes often take place in libraries, school classrooms, conference rooms, parks, and shared programming spaces. This workshop will inspire and prepare you in making yoga more accessible and more available to under-served and specialized populations. It is designed for those who believe yoga classes should be accessible, culturally competent, welcoming, and enjoyable for ALL bodies, ALL backgrounds and ALL styles of learning.

Sliding scale pricing available. 100% of proceeds benefit BeWell in School.
